Ramon Perry & A2YF Gospel Show! Thursday's 12pm-2pm

Ramon Perry began playing at the age of 3 under the tutelage of Sylvester Harper  

and studied at the Melody Way School of Music under Daisy Robinson.  

He also served as musician and choir director at his home church Wesley Chapel Community Spiritual Church from the age of 13 until he turned 19. 


Continuing his musical journey Ramon became a member and served as Minister of Music at Zion Temple Church of Christ,(Pastor Willie L. Williams) for better than 13 years. While playing for Zion Temple  he played for the early morning service for By Faith MBC (under the late Rev Robert Bonner). Ramon affectionately called Dr. Perry has served in various musical capacities at the Omega Baptist Church, St. Martins Church of Christ, True Foundation Full Gospel Baptist Church of Gary IN,( Pastor Fred. Jackson) and the Wesley United Methodist Church. Ramon  later joined and served on the Praise Team at Destiny Worship Center (Pastor DeAndre Patterson) and was later called serve as Minister of Music for The Evangel World Outreach Center under Pastor Ray Berryhill.  


Ramon’s singing and additional tutelage came under the late James Chambers and the Ecclesiastes Community Choir/Chicago Mass and Stephen B. Jones and Exortations of Praise.  

Ramon Perry founded Ministry and Praise Chorale in August of 1997 with the help of a few friends. The vision was to have an aggregation of FAT singers (Faithful, Anointed and Talented) that have a relationship with the Lord, to minister in song to the saved and unsaved. Ramon Perry and Ministry & Praise Chorale affectionately known as MAPC has traveled to Saginaw, Nashville, Indianapolis, Milwaukee and Detroit has been featured on the TV program Singsation, and was featured on the Mc Donald’s stage at the Chicago Gospel Fest in Grant Park. Ramon Perry and MAPC have shared the stage with great artist such as Dr. Charles G. Hayes and the Warriors, Elder DeAndre Patterson and the Progressive Radio Choir, The late Queen of Gospel, Albertina Walker, the late Ethel Holloway, Lecresia Campbell, Malcolm Williams and Voices of Great Faith, Bishop Larry D. Trotter and Sweet Holy Spirit Church Choir and The Whitfield Company of Detroit and many others.  


Ramon being a product Chicago the capital of Gospel Music has been influenced by gospel giants such as the legendary Ethel Holloway, Daisy Robinson, (his first music teacher and mentor) Loudella Evans Reid, Pastor Reginald Earl McCracken, Shelby Wills, Allen Cathey, Elder DeAndre Patterson, Nash Schaffer The late Rev. James Cleveland, Rev. Charles Nicks, Bishop Charles Craig, Minister Thomas A. Whitfield and the Whitfield Company, James Chambers,The First Church of Deliverance, Pastor Clay Evans, and The Fellowship Baptist Church, Father Charles Hayes, Pastor Ray Berryhill, Richard Smallwood, Pastor Rudolph Stanfield and Donald Lawrence.  


His musical talents include singing and playing the Hammond B3, serving as vocal coach, teaching, directing, arranging and singing. He has also received several awards and certificates for his musical accomplishment. Ramon Perry currently serves as Minister Of Music at Mt Hermon Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor Oscar T Moses.
